WEYAUWEGA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A driver is facing OWI charges after they were traveling in the wrong lane of traffic.
Just before 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane of traffic on U.S. Highway 10 at Little River Road in the town of Weyauwega.
A traffic stop was initiated in the city of Weyauwega. At first, the vehicle did not pull over but eventually did.
That’s when the deputy determined the driver was intoxicated.
The sheriff’s office is recommending the following charges: operating while intoxicated, first offense, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
