GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An area man is being charged with 40 different counts revolving around identity theft and fraudulent activity offenses.
Brown County Sheriff’s Office says this has been an ongoing investigation.
Captain Jody Lemmens said a deputy found suspicious items like stacks of credit cards and checks while at Brandon Washington’s home. And have identified more than 36 victims in this one case.
“Investigators have reached out to 26 of the victims face to face, and then they’re awaiting contact with the other 10 victims as they are out of the area.”
Officials say it was a local operation and Washington worked with a waitress at a restaurant to make copies of people’s credit cards and ID’s when they would open a tab.
