GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — There has been another spike in COVID-19 Coronavirus cases in Brown County.
During a Friday press briefing Health Department Spokesman Ted Shove said that there are now 186 cases in the county and the Oneida Nation, a 36 case jump from Thursday, and the recent spike is linked to…somewhere.
“Public health has identified a correlation between a cluster of confirmed cases and specific locations where their operations are not accessible to the public,” Shove told reporters.
Officials did not take questions from reporters on Friday. It’s not clear where the locations they’re talking about are or if they’re workplaces or healthcare facilities.
“Due to our ongoing investigation we cannot release further information at this time,” said Shove. “We are anticipating additional resources to be deployed to assist Brown County Public Health with this specific investigation.”
More information is expected Monday.
The 36 case jump between Thursday and Friday is the highest seen yet in Brown County, beating out the jump of 35 between Wednesday and Thursday.
Of the confirmed cases, 26 are out of isolation and are seeing symptoms improve.
The greatest concentration of cases is on Green Bay’s east side, where there were 61 reported cases on Friday in the 54302 zip code. That accounts for the large portion of Friday’s increase as the same zip code on Thursday had 38 confirmed cases.
