LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Fox Valley man saw a need and stepped up to address it.
Keith Eake said it was disheartening to hear dairy farmers were dumping their milk because they just couldn’t sell it.
So last week when Eake got his stimulus check, he decided to start the 100 Gallon Challenge.
He went to a Kwik Trip in Neenah and bought 100 gallons of milk and then Kwik Trip donated another 20 gallons to him.
He then turned around, and donated all of that milk to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
“It’s a shame and the dairy farmers are the backbone of America, and they’re out there every morning and every night, producing or getting the product that we need every day. So I thought that this is just a little thing that we can do to help pay them back,” Eake said.
For those who would like to participate in the challenge, Eake says the next time you’re at the grocery store and reach for a gallon of milk, think about grabbing a few more and giving those to a family member, friend or neighbor.
