APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An Appleton company building module intensive care units shipped out its first order Wednesday.
Earlier this month, the Boldt Company partnered with HGA architects to build modular intensive care units for COVID-19 patients. They serve as a solution to help hospitals with overflow and isolation.
The first 32 modules were sent to Adventist Health Fort Washington Hospital, in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Once the modules arrive in Maryland, it will take about two days to set them up.
Tom Boldt, Chief Executive Officer of the Boldt Company, tells FOX 11 the modular units are designed to be like a LEGO set, that can be placed together, depending on the hospital’s need.
It took a team of 50 skilled workers less than a month from concept to finished product.
The company says it received other inquires from other hospitals around the country and in Mexico.
Faith Technologies and Tweet Garrot are partners for specialty contracting.
