GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With the “Safer at Home” order extended to May 26, the Green Bay Area Public School District says it is still working on plans for typical end of the year activities.
Based on Governor Tony Evers’ Badger Bounce Back plan, groups larger than 50 will not be allowed until Phase III. With this in mind, the school district says it will continue to explore creative and alternative ways in which to honor and celebrate the senior class of 2020 at East, Preble, West and Southwest high schools.
Secondly, officials say they are also seeking guidance from the medical community and the Department of Public Health on how to develop a plan that ensures safety for staff and students during the locker clean-out process and the return of students’ belongings.
The topic of summer school is also being discussed. At this time, the district says it is planning for a virtual learning experience with the hopes of having the opportunity to also provide face-to-face learning experiences.
All updates will be announced on the district’s website.
