APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Six Fox Valley breweries partnered to offer a drive-thru craft beer festival Sunday afternoon.
Employees from Stone Arch Brewpub in Appleton, McFleshman’s Brewing Co. in Appleton, the Appleton Beer Factory, Fox River Brewing Co. in Appleton and Oshkosh, Barrel 41 Brewing Co. in Neenah, and Lion’s Tail Brewing Co. in Neenah gathered in the Stone Arch Brewpub parking lot for the event.
They had people drive up, and then employees from those breweries filled their orders for the beer.
The brew-masters tells FOX 11 sales have dropped tremendously since the coronavirus pandemic forced the breweries to close to the public.
“Sales have been down in breweries, typically anywhere from 70-to-80 percent,” says Stone Arch Brewpub owner Steve Lonsway. “We’re finally at a point where there’s over 8,000 breweries throughout the United State, and there’s reports that anywhere from 40-to-60 percent may not be able to open in our community,” Lonsway adds.
The event had separate pay, order and pick-up stations, so the process involved no human contact.
