OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — The school resource officer who shot a 16-year-old student at Oshkosh West High School after that student apparently stabbed him with a barbecue fork has been cleared of wrongdoing by Winnebago County officials.
Officer Michael Wissink was justified, Winnebago County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Prekop said in a statement Monday, when he shot Grant Fuhrman on December 3rd, 2019. That shooting prompted a lockdown at the school and a massive police response.
Wissink is a 21 year veteran of the Oshkosh Police Department.
