An explosion damaged machinery at a recycling facility in Grand Chute Oct. 30, 2025. PC: Fox 11 Online
GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An explosion at a recycling facility sent debris as far as 100 yards away.
The Grand Chute Fire Department says around 10:15 a.m. Thursday, it was called to the 3300 block of W. Highview Drive. An investigation determined employees were using heavy machinery to cut old natural gas cylinders. One of the cylinders that was still pressurized was accidentally cut, causing the explosion.
No injuries were reported.
The machinery had minor damage.
