GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsinites emerging from over 50 days of COVID-19 induced shutdowns and hoping to go camping in one of the state’s many state parks are going to have to wait a little longer.
“There is no camping right now for this weekend,” State Parks System Spokesman Chris Pedretti “Camping is closed at the state parks and forests at most reservable general campsites.”
Some more remote campgrounds are open. Visitors will need an annual admission sticker to get into state parks, as offices are closed. You can still get those stickers online.
“State parks and forests are open,” said Pedretti. “But we don’t have facilities open, and that includes bathrooms, so you’ll definitely want to plan ahead.”
There is no timeline for reopening campgrounds.
