MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Over 15,000 Wisconsinites have contracted the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
On Sunday, officials reported 400 new cases of the virus, which is around 5.5% of the over 7,000 tests conducted over the last 24 hours. That’s comparable to numbers seen over the past week, in which between 2.9% and 8% of those tested were positive for COVID-19.
The percentage positive number has been referenced by health experts as evidence that the virus’s “curve” has flattened.
The death count was reported at 510 on Sunday, three more than reported Saturday. Hospitalized cases accounted for 15% of the total, or 2,315 patients.
Negative tests are approaching the 200,000 mark. They hit 186,206 on Sunday.
