GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A vehicle crash on the Main Street bridge threw a passenger into the Fox River Monday morning.
Green Bay Police report a vehicle containing several passengers struck a guard rail on the bridge at around 5:23 am. Upon arrival police determined one passenger had been ejected from the vehicle and into the Fox River.
A citizen in a fishing boat, who happened to be in the area, successfully pulled the female passenger from the water. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 17-year-old female driving the car was taken to the hospital and later arrested on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
The Main St. Bridge was closed for about an hour due to the accident.
