GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsinites are hitting the road after the end of the COVID-19-induced ‘Safer at Home’ order.
RV sales have spiked in the aftermath of the shutdowns as Wisconsinites desperate to get over their cabin fever rush to places like Northeast Wisconsin’s Kunes Country RV locations.
“You know, it’s on fire right now,” said spokesman Brian Beno. “The problem we’re gonna have is getting trailers!”
Sales have shot up over the past two weeks. Beno says it’s driven by a desire to spend time with family.
“The easiest way to get back to the family is camping,” said Beno. “It’s a relatively inexpensive form of entertainment. It’s a safe way to go because of all the social distancing.”
Beno says more budget RV options are becoming more popular as working families look to escape for a while.
Travel agencies have indicated that distance RV trips are becoming a popular option as the nation starts to open back up.
