DE PERE,WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The De Pere Pink Flamingo Classic may be cancelled this year, but organizers say fundraising won’t stop.
The annual charity softball game, which was originally set for July was canceled due to the coronavirus.
Organizers of the tournament announced on Facebook Friday, they will now focus on fundraising for COVID-19 relief.
Pink Flamingo Organizer, Trevor Ramseier tells FOX 11….
“We decided that if we can’t do the Pink Flamingo all in like we have the past 36 years then we’re all out and going to put all our efforts into raising money. “
Apparel will be sold online and the design will honor frontline workers.
People can also donate online to one of the 19 teams that would have participated in the event. Each team is being challenged to raise $2,000.
The goal this year is to raise $37,000 to honor what would have been its thirty-seventh tournament in July.
