TOWN OF LITTLE RIVER, WI (WTAQ) – A man was killed and a girl injured when the motorcycle they were riding hit a deer.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 41 near Highway A.
Deputies say a 50-year-old Marinette man was riding north on 41 when he hit the deer. The crash caused the driver to lose control and the motorcycle tipped over.
The man and his passenger, a 15-year-old girl from Marinette, were both taken to the hospital. The man later died. No information on the girl’s condition was provided.
The state DOT says May and June are peak periods for crashes with deer. Six of the nine people who died as a result of crashes with deer in Wisconsin in 2019 were on motorcycles.
