GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — After Sunday night’s protests over the death of George Floyd turned violent in Green Bay, Black Lives Matter organizer Dajahnae Williams says she was disappointed in how things turned out.
“I am against the violence and the destroying of these businesses that have nothing to do with it,” Williams said. “I spoke out to the community and I let them know how disappointed I was and how that ended on Sunday.”
She appeared on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’. She says their intentions are peaceful.
“When we say ‘no justice, no peace’, we mean walking around chanting as loud as we can,” said Williams. “Because all we have is our voice.”
A large demonstration over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis is planned for Sunday morning at Leicht Park.
