SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A citation has been issued against a Shawano County man for illegally killing a black bear.
Ronald Erdmann, 72, was issued the ticket for killing a protected a wild animal. The ticket, issued by the DNR, carries a $478.30 fine, and has already been paid, according to the Clerk of Courts office.
Shawano County Sheriff Adam Bieber said the mother bear was killed June 3rd in the town of Richmond, just west of Shawano.
Three bear cubs were safely and successfully captured and were taken to a rehabilitation facility.
