Amanda Wolfgram sentencing, Oct. 17, 2025. PC: Fox 11 Online
OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Amanda Wolfgram will serve 15 years in prison and 15 years on extended supervision for her role in the 2024 crash in Menasha that killed Kyle Ritchie and left two others injured.
Wolfgram was charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle while having prior intoxicant-related conviction/revocation, a Class C felony. She also was sentenced to six years on a count of operating while intoxicated causing injury – second and subsequent offense, a Class H felony. The second charge carries three years of initial confinement and three years of extended supervision. The two sentences will be served concurrently.
Wolfgram, then 25, struck another vehicle at approximately 8:07 p.m. on July 13, 2024, near Third Street and De Pere Street in Menasha. Wolfgram was driving in the wrong lane of traffic and had a blood alcohol level of .111, according to the criminal complaint.
She left Jitters Bar minutes before the crash after drinking three Jack Daniels and Sun Drop mixed drinks and had marijuana in her system, the complaint says.
“I want to start by saying I am truly and extremely sorry for the outcome of my actions,” said Wolfgram at Friday’s sentencing. “I understand that no amount of apologies will make up for the devastation and hurt that I caused. No one deserves to lose a son, a brother, a friend.”
Wolfgram admitted deserving time behind bars, though her attorney argued for a minimum five-year initial confinement.
“Yes, I deserve prison,” said Wolfgram. “How much? I can’t say. Time is required for losing one’s life.”
Ritchie’s mother was driving the vehicle while Ritchie, 27, was in the passenger seat. His 10-year-old nephew was in the backseat at the time of the crash. Ritchie’s mother suffered a knee injury and his nephew suffered a broken jaw, which will likely need additional repair in the future.
Ritchie was pronounced dead from his injuries four days later.
“She’s shown no remorse,” said Ritchie’s mother at the sentencing. “She’s had plenty of other chances to change her actions, and she hasn’t done so. I have a life sentence without my son.”
Added his mother: “I can’t stop thinking about why him, not me. He had so much more life to live, so much younger than I am.”
Wolfgram’s license was revoked after an OWI conviction in 2017, according to the complaint. She has 20 days to report for her sentence.
