GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Bond was set at $250,000 cash Friday for a man described by a prosecutor as being “at the highest level” of a drug trafficking operation.
Quincy Shields has not been charged but was in court Friday for a bond hearing. He returns to court April 30. A criminal complaint is expected to be filed by then.
Assistant District Attorney Claire Lamal portrayed Shields and Christopher Howard as the leaders of the operation.
Another 18 suspects have appeared in court but only one person has been charged.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office said the Brown County Drug Task Force worked with the FBI to make arrests for drug-related offenses, weapons violations, outstanding warrants and probation and parole holds. The operation included three SWAT teams deployed in Green Bay on Wednesday.
At a previous hearing, Asst. District Attorney Natalie Mulvey said “There were a total of 27 controlled purchases investigated by the drug task force, a seizure of 271.8 grams of cocaine and cocaine base, six firearms seized.”
Federal charges are also possible.
