BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Another sign that warmer weather is on the way: Docks are being installed throughout parks in Brown County.
Docks have been installed at H.J. DeBaker Eagles Nest and Lily Lake. Docks were being installed Friday at the Neil L. LaFave Suamico Boat Launch.
Parks officials say they are still waiting for ice in the harbor and snow on the hill to melt before they can install docks at Cecil Depeau Bay Shore Boat Launch. The gate heading to the launch remains closed.
The parks department urges boaters to use caution when navigating into waterways, since water levels along these parks are low.
Launch permits are required. New this year, automatic pay stations located at Bay Shore, Eagles Nest, Lily Lake and Suamico will only have the $6 daily permit available for purchase. A $60 annual permit can be purchased in person from one of the boat launch vendor locations, online or through the Brown County Parks smartphone app. The app also includes a link to a live Bay Shore Park webcam so users can monitor conditions.
