GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Mattea McQuisten pleaded not guilty Monday to allegedly stealing more than $2,700 worth of alcohol from several Brown County businesses.
No trial date was set. She returns to court June 12 for a status conference on six counts, including two felony counts of retail thefts, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, the thefts happened in a span of five days. The allegations include the following incidents:
- On Jan. 16, McQuisten allegedly stole several bottles of alcohol worth $519.86 from the HyVee in Ashwaubenon.
- Three times between Jan. 17 and 21, McQuisten allegedly went into the Meijer store in Howard, gathered items, and left the store without paying. Most of the items were alcohol. On the 17th, it included one bottle of Patron, one bottle of Courvoisier, two bottles of Remy Martin, and one bottle of Don Julio 1942, worth a combined $299.96. On the 19, the items were worth $968.37. On the 21st, it included six bottles of Courvoisier, one bottle of Don Julio 1942, and one bottle of Don Julio Rosado worth $623.91.
- On Jan. 17, McQuisten allegedly stole a bottle of Lagavulin 16 Year scotch, worth $152.99, from Neo’s Discount Tobacco & Liquor in Green Bay. She also allegedly attempted to steal another bottle on Jan. 21, but was halted by the employee.
- On Jan. 20, McQuisten allegedly stole a bottle of McCallan 15 Year, worth $159.99, from Ridgeview Liquor in Ashwaubenon.
When police tried to pull her over on Jan. 25, she fled the officer. Given the icy conditions and McQuisten allegedly ignoring several stop signs, the chase was abandoned.
Police pulled her over again on Friday. She initially gave a false name before identifying herself, the complaint states.
The complaint does not contain any statements from McQuisten about the thefts.
Court records show McQuisten has multiple previous convictions for bail jumping and drug possession.
