GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Another suspect in a Chicago-to-Green Bay drug ring was convicted Friday.
Ebony Austin, 36, pleaded no contest to six counts, including possession with intent to deliver cocaine, fentanyl, and amphetamine. Five other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for June 23, court records show.
Five search warrants were executed in Brown County in July, 2024. A simultaneous search of the stash house in Chicago yielded 12 kilograms (26 pounds) of fentanyl, four kilograms (nine pounds) of cocaine, 748 grams (1.6 pounds) of meth, 460 grams (one pound) of heroin, 16 guns and some marijuana.
Seven people were initially charged after the arrests were announced.
Prosecutors have since said this case was the state’s first wiretap investigation for fentanyl and at least 47 people are facing charges.
Felton Currie, who police identified as the ringleader, was sentenced to 40 years in prison in the case. Michael Oliver was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
