ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — You can help decide which banner will adorn Ashwaubenon streetlights in celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
On Monday, the village launched a contest that allows the public to choose which streetlight banner will hang this summer.
There are four designs to choose from. To cast your vote, head to the Village of Ashwaubenon’s Facebook page and “react” to your favorite banner. A picture of each design can be found in the comments section of the village’s post.
Whichever banner gets the most reactions wins. Voting closes March 16.
“The banners are very patriotic-themed, celebrating America’s 250th birthday. There are also pieces and parts of the village in the designs themselves,” said Sarah Zambon, the communication and digital media specialist for the village of Ashwaubenon.
She said the community is excited to be involved in this special decision.
“We have worked really hard on the designs and we love the feedback that we’re getting,” said Zambon. “We’re getting really positive feedback from the community about being able to voice their opinion and have a choice in what is displayed in the village.”
The banners are expected to go up right before Memorial Day weekend.
