WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Antigo woman was charged Thursday with providing the heroin which killed a man and then hiding his body in 2020, although his remains have yet to be found.
Desiree Osman, 31, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, hiding a corpse, delivery of heroin, and two counts of bail jumping in connection with the death of Jon Morgan.
Morgan, 23, was last seen on March 6, 2020, and reported missing two days later.
According to the criminal complaint, Osman was interviewed several times by police. She admitted she purchased heroin in Milwaukee, and then she and Jon smoked it later that day.
“In Desiree’s interview on 8/18/2020, she admitted to being the last person to see Jon alive,” the complaint states. “Desiree is told during an interview that she has knowledge of what happened but is scared and does not know what to do to which she responds ‘yeah’. Shortly later Desiree said ‘he’s dead’.”
While there were multiple searches for Morgan’s body, none have been successful.
“Investigators believe that Jon’s body was moved from Desiree’s residence and placed somewhere. His body, as of the date of this filing, has not been located despite exhaustive efforts,” the complaint states.
Three weeks ago, a social media post by Morgan’s family offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
“We continue to hope and pray that those who know what happened to him finally come forward so we can finally get some closure and put him to rest. To those who have provided information, thank you, we greatly appreciate it,” the post states. “It is unknown whether he is alive at this time or not; however, our family believes he is most likely deceased.”
In the fall of 2020, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Dept. asked hunters to be on the lookout for Morgan’s body.
