Andre Allen, Karonn Hamilton and Corven Jones are suspected of traveling from Virginia to Manitowoc to deliver meth. (Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office)
MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The federal government has taken over the prosecution for two of three suspects arrested in a Virginia-to-Wisconsin drug ring, and added another suspect to the case.
Karonn Hamilton and Andre Allen were charged in December, along with Corven Jones, after investigators found more than 24 pounds of meth in a vehicle. Police alleged the three traveled to Manitowoc from Virginia to deliver the drugs.
Court records show federal charges were filed last week against Hamilton and Jones. Both pleaded not guilty Monday, and have trials set for May 5.
Also charged in federal court was Anhuar Garcia-Tarabay, who does not appear to be in custody, as no hearings have been held in his case.
The cases in Manitowoc County against Allen and Hamilton were dismissed today, court records show.
The remaining defendant in Manitowoc County is Jones. He has an arraignment scheduled for Wednesday.
