(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) – The Marquette University men’s basketball team (9-16, 4-10) wraps up a two-game BIG EAST road swing at Xavier (12-12, 4-9 BIG EAST) at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 14 for Valentine’s Day matchup at Cintas Center. Saturday’s action wraps up a stretch of 6-of-9 games on the road for the Golden Eagles in league play.
Marquette Facing Xavier For 91st Time
Marquette and Xavier will meet for the 91st time on Saturday afternoon, continuing a series that spans nearly half of the program’s 109-year history.
The Golden Eagles own a 62-28 lead in matchups that date back to the 1958-59 campaign. MU dominated the outings during the Al McGuire and Hank Raymonds era, at one point claiming 26-straight victories between 1969 and 1983.
The Golden Eagles picked up their first BIG EAST victory of the 2025-26 campaign in the first meeting, hanging on for a 66-65 decision over the Musketeers on Jan. 7, 2026 at Fiserv Forum. Forward Royce Parham led four players in double figures with 14 points and added eight boards.
