APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A West Allis-based brewery is tapping into growth in Appleton with a sprawling new development.
Ope! Brewing Company broke ground on its new 23,000 square-foot facility Friday at the former Car City dealership at 1932 W. College Avenue.
The 2.5 acre site, dubbed Ope! North, spans across four buildings. The development will feature two taprooms, two sand volleyball courts, four outdoor pickleball courts, indoor and outdoor stages for live music, food truck area and a pilot brewhouse to develop new beers and include new equipment for cider production.
The dog-friendly brewery will also have a canine club dog wash and merchandise shop.
Both taprooms will include a total of 12 roll up garage doors to provide an indoor, outdoor feel on warmer days and feature 24 tap lines serving up a variety of Ope! beers, hard seltzers, sours and draft cocktails.
The brewery is being built in an area the city of Appleton is focusing on redeveloping. The city’s 10-20 year plan is to focus on walkable downtown, walkable residential neighborhoods, walkable mixed-use centers.
Ope! North will be just six minutes from the heart of downtown Appleton.
