OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An inmate at Oshkosh Correctional Institution died after police say he assaulted another inmate.
Oshkosh police say a physical disturbance involving three inmates happened just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Prison employees secured a 43-year-old man after he assaulted another inmate. Police say he then experienced a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital.
Just after 9 a.m. Thursday, police were notified that the inmate had died at the hospital.
The Oshkosh Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the death.
