ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Packers fans can send off the team as it begins its playoff push this weekend.
Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport is inviting the public to the airport on Friday. Fans are encouraged to arrive by 12:30 p.m. to ensure access inside the terminal. Those who arrive later may have to stand outside the front entrance doors and are advised to wear warm clothes.
Parking will be free in the remote lot. Attendees are encouraged to drop off those with accessibility needs at the terminal entrance before parking.
There will be a sign-making station inside the terminal where fans can express their support for the team.
“Few things unite Wisconsin the way the Green Bay Packers do,” airport director Marty Piette said in a news release. “The team represents hard work, tradition, and community values that resonate across our entire state. We’re proud to open our doors and give fans the opportunity to show their support as the Packers head out to represent Wisconsin on a national stage.”
Airport officials urge fans to be enthusiastic but respectful and not harass players, coaches or Packers staff members.
Any updates will be shared on the airport’s social media channels.
The Packers play the Chicago Bears in Chicago Saturday night in a wild card round game.
