(WTAQ-WLUK) — A 43-year-old Oshkosh man is facing his fourth OWI offense after leading authorities on a chase across two counties.
Just after 1:30 a.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper tried to pull over a vehicle for speeding in a construction zone on I-41 in Outagamie County.
The vehicle refused to stop and shortly after, the pursuit was terminated.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle a short time later, going at speeds faster than 100 mph.
Brown County initiated a short pursuit, however, theirs was terminated as well.
Back in Outagamie County, deputies located and successfully stopped the vehicle at County Road E and Seminary Road.
The driver of the vehicle refused Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) and was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 4th offense. Officers are referring additional charges: felony flee/elude, reckless driving, speed, deviate from designated lane, failure to keep vehicle under control, four counts of felony bail jumping and one count of misdemeanor bail jumping.
