Dennis Derbique (BCSO)
GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A Green Bay man faces sexual assault, child enticement and child pornography possession charges after video he posted of a nude seven-year-old girl was discovered online.
Police are reviewing more than 1,300 items and may file more charges involving additional victims, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Dennis Derbique, 76, made an initial appearance in Brown County Wednesday. A $500,000 cash bond was set. Derbique returns to court Jan. 21 for a balance of initial appearance.
While the charges filed Wednesday relate to two victims, there may be more victims, according to Assistant District Attorney Claire Lamal.
According to the criminal complaint, police were alerted to a 20-second video clip posted on Snapchat showing the naked girl, with a male commenting on her appearance.
Police traced the video to Derbique, who eventually admitted to seeing the girl naked on multiple occasions and being naked himself around her.
“At least one time in the past I allowed [Victim 1] to touch my penis,” the complaint states. “I am sorry for the things that I have done.”
Police interviewed Derbique a second time about other videos on his cell phones, and he admitted to another incident in which he recorded video of the first victim and her older sister. One video appears to show Derbique touching the younger girl sexually. He told an investigator he didn’t remember the specifics of that incident, however.
“A normal adult would have never put themselves into this position and if so, they would have stopped it. I chose not to stop it at any time and actually encouraged it by leaving the door closed and video recording it. I am physically and sexually attracted to little girls. I have a problem and recognize that I need help,” the complaint quotes Derbique as saying.
The children’s parents told police they allowed the girls to visit Derbique but did not know what was happening.
