KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A garage fire in Kaukauna caused about $50,000 in damage.
Crews were called to East Tobacnoir Street around 10:30 Thursday night.
A resident reported flames coming from the garage.
When firefighters arrived, they could see flames coming from the back of the 2 1/2 stall garage.
They say the fire was starting to come through the roof.
It took about 20 minutes to put the fire out.
Two vehicles in the garage when the fire broke out are a total loss.
Damage was confined to the garage.
No injuries were reported and no residents were displaced.
The Kaukauna Fire Department says the blaze started from a wood stove that was being used.
Officials remind people to keep combustible materials and other flammable items away from heating sources, such as wood stoves, furnaces and space heaters.
The Kaukauna Fire Department received help from the Little Chute Fire Department, Kaukauna Police Department, WE Energies and Kaukauna Utilities.
