(WTAQ-WLUK) — A former Green Bay Packers head coach is advancing in the coach category to become part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.
Mike Holmgren coached the green and gold from 1992 to 1998, where he won Super Bowl XXXI in 1996. He also got to the Super Bowl the following season in Green Bay and then again in the 2005 season in Seattle.
Holmgren was nominated last year but fell short in the final vote.
Other head coaches still in the running are Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seifert and Mike Shanahan.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 will be announced at “NFL Honors” in San Francisco in February and enshrined in August in Canton.
