Green Bay City Hall
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Mayor Eric Genrich is proposing a $143.8 million budget for 2026.
The budget would increase property taxes 3%, Genrich’s office says. That translates to a $62.50 increase for the owner of an average house worth $250,000. The overall property tax levy would be $67 million.
Genrich says the reasons for the increase are debt service payments, which are going up by $2.3 million because of recent infrastructure projects and higher interest rates, and employee pay, with regular salaries increasing by $2.8 million.
