STEVENS POINT, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The WIAA has launched a new initiative named “Hear it? See it? Report it!”
The initiative is designed to make it easier and more efficient to report inappropriate behavior at high school athletic events.
Those attending games are able to make a report online or by using a QR code that will be provided at events. Reports can also be made to a coach, official, or event manager.
In a news release, WIAA Executive Director Stephanie Hauser said, “This initiative empowers everyone — students, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators — to help create a positive environment for all.”
Everyone is encouraged to report the following behavior:
- Harassment or hate speech based on race, gender, religion, or personal characteristics
- Profane, vulgar, insulting, or offensive language or gestures
- Taunting or behavior designed to embarrass, ridicule, or demean others
- Actions that create a hostile or intimidating environment
