GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Parents and guardians of students in the Green Bay Area Public School District are invited to offer their feedback as the district begins to search for its next superintendent.
Last month, the GBAPS Board of Education voted to hire CESA 7 to lead the search. As part of the process, CESA 7 is encouraging parents/guardians to join a focus group and take part in a structured roundtable discussion.
That session is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in room 138 A&B of the district office building. Participants will be asked to share their perspectives “on areas where the district can improve and discuss the skills and experience they believe are essential for the next superintendent.”
If you are unable to attend that meeting, you can also attend a community session at the Neville Public Museum. Two discussions will take place Nov. 4 — one at noon and the other at 6:30 p.m.
A survey will be released shortly for GBAPS students, staff, families and community members to offer their input. Individuals who would like to provide feedback but cannot attend any of the aforementioned meetings can submit their responses in the survey.
Vicki Bayer will serve as superintendent through the end of the 2025-26 school year. She has said she does not want to be in the position long-term, but has agreed to do a year’s worth of assisting to the new superintendent when they start in the role, which the district is hoping is next July.
