NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Neenah is celebrating one of the largest street reconstruction projects in the city’s history.
The estimated $10.8 million project to reconstruct 1.5-miles of South Commercial Street between Tyler and Stanley Streets, was funded with 69% federal dollars and 31% municipal dollars and was completed on schedule over a period of seven months.
Elected officials, department and community leaders, and key project partners gathered to mark the completion Wednesday.
Upgrades include replacement of the storm sewer, pavement, sidewalks, driveways, streetscaping, and traffic signals. The project also improved safety, walkability and economic vitality.
