(WTAQ-WLUK) — Another two-year Universities of Wisconsin campus will close in spring.
Officials say UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County will cease operations on May 22, 2026.
The spring 2026 semester will go on as planned.
The campus has been holding classes for nearly 60 years.
UW-Platteville Chancellor Tammy Evetovich said declining enrollment led to the decision.
The campus will help students transition to the main Platteville campus and plans are in place for faculty and employees.
In recent years, five Universities of Wisconsin two-year campuses have closed: UW-Platteville Richland, UW-Milwaukee at Washington County, UW-Milwaukee at Waukesha, UW-Oshkosh Fond du Lac and UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities. UW-Green Bay Marinette ended in-person classes and UW-Stevens Point Marathon County is relocating its campus to the local technical college in the fall of 2026.
Six other branch campuses still open are UW-Eau Claire Barron County, UW-Green Bay Manitowoc, UW-Green Bay Sheboygan, UW-Stevens Point Wausau, UW-Stevens Point Marshfield and UW-Whitewater Rock County.
