Brian Blasing (Wisconsin Department of Corrections)
OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Brian Blasing was convicted Friday of providing the drugs used in an overdose death, the second time he’s been convicted of such a charge.
Blasing, 35, pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide-delivery of drugs for a Sept. 12, 2018, incident. Other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 29, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, police found Jeffrey Pecha laying on a sidewalk. He later died.
Police reviewed phone records, showing Pecha arranging a heroin and meth buy from Blasing. “Based upon the best information available, it is believed that Jeffrey Pecha died within approximately 30 minutes” of meeting for the drugs, the complaint states.
In 2021, Blasing was sentenced to 19 years in prison for the February 2019 death of Terry Westphal in Pound.
He’s currently housed at the Dodge Correctional Institution, state records show.
