BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Investigators are not recommending any charges be filed in an ATV crash that fatally injured the driver’s granddaughter.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says emergency crews were called to private property in the town of Glenmore the morning of Oct. 3. A 68-year-old man driving an ATV failed to stop in time and hit a steel feeder trough on his property. His 3-year-old granddaughter was riding in front of him and was injured in the crash.
The girl was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Neither the driver nor the girl was wearing a helmet.
Sheriff’s officials say they do not believe impairment, speed or reckless driving were involved in the crash.
The driver’s name has not been released as the sheriff’s office says the family has asked for privacy.
