GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County is increasing security at the Brown County Courthouse.
The county unveiled its new single point entry and law enforcement center security screening area, set to open to the public Tuesday.
The new public entrance is on the Walnut Street side of the building. All other doors of the building will be secured and used only as emergency exits.
Additional screening measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all people attending to matters within the Courthouse Complex:
- All persons will be required to enter through the Security Entrance on Walnut Street.
- All persons will submit all carried items for electronic scanning and search.
- All persons will be required to pass through a metal detector and may be asked to submit to a metal detecting wand or hand search.
- Hours of Operation for the Courthouse Complex are currently established as 7:45a.m. to 4:30p.m. (doors will remain unlocked until the last hearing has completed).
- Additional signage is added to the interior of the building and Brown County has created a free app which is available in both the Google Store and Apple Store. The app has information regarding the specific locations for each Office, an interactive map for navigation and several quick link resources.
