(WTAQ-WLUK) — The family who saved a kitten that fell off the Sturgeon Bay bridge officially adopted her.
Good Samaritans Stephanie Swain and her daughter Angelynn, were recently driving across the Sturgeon Bay Bridge last month when they saw a kitten darting back and forth, then jumping off the side of the bridge to escape the traffic.
They were able to pull the kitten, affectionately called Splash, from the water and brought her to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Door County Campus.
After a full recovery, the humane society says the Swain’s took Splash, now renamed Angel, home.
Stephanie surprised her daughter with Angel when she came home from school earlier this week.
Stephanie says her daughter has always wanted to study veterinary medicine and animal rescue, and is now more excited than ever to get involved as soon as she’s old enough to volunteer at the humane society.
