TOWN OF CENTER, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One woman is dead and another seriously injured after their vehicles collided Wednesday in Outagamie County.
It happened shortly before 6 a.m. near the intersection of County Road A and Quarry Road in the town of Center.
Investigators said an SUV traveling northbound on County Road A crossed the center line and hit a car traveling southbound on County Road A.
A 19-year-old woman from Hortonville was the sole occupant in the northbound SUV. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the southbound car, a 47-year-old woman from Nichols, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
County Road A was closed for about five hours but has since reopened.
