OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Oconto County left one dead and two injured.
At approximately 10:26 am, Oconto County Sherriff’s responded to a crash in the Town of Gillet involving a passenger car and a pickup truck towing a trailer.
Sherriff’s arrived to STH 22, near the intersection of Old 22 Road/CTH P.
Upon arrival, a Volkswagen SUV was found in the west ditch. A Chevrolet pickup truck was discovered in the southbound lane. Both vehicles contained extensive damage.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the truck, operated by a 22-year old Sobieski man, was traveling south on STH 22 while the gray SUV was traveling north.
The SUV, occupied by a 24-year old man and a 2-year old passenger, moved left of the centerline, coming into contact with the front of the truck.
The SUV driver died at the scene. His two-year old passenger was transported to a hospital in Green Bay for injuries, along with the truck driver.
No further information has been released.
