AUBURN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A homeowner was taken to the hospital after a fire destroyed their Fond du Lac County home.
Just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday, dispatch received a 911 call from the homeowner at W2420 Century Drive in the town of Auburn for a report of a fire that was coming out of the windows. The caller confirmed all occupants had safely evacuated.
When firefighters arrived, the residence was fully engulfed.
The residence is a total loss and the homeowner was treated at the hospital for minor injuries related to the fire.
One pet cat is safe and another is unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
