(WTAQ-WLUK) — A Mexican national residing in Kaukauna has been indicted for passport fraud.
Erik Paz-Zavaleta, 46, was arraigned Wednesday on a previously-sealed indictment charging him with making a false statement in the application for a passport.
According to authorities, back in March 2022, Paz-Zavaleta “willfully and knowingly made a false statement in the application for a passport” and used another person’s identity to obtain a passport.
If convicted, Paz-Zavaleta faces up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
