(WTAQ-WLUK) — Gov. Tony Evers has formally put out a call for applicants to succeed an Outagamie County judge who is stepping down.
Last week, Judge Mark McGinnis announced his retirement, effective Feb. 1.
Evers will appoint a new judge to serve the remainder of McGinnis’ term, which expires July 31, 2027.
Those interested in applying can learn more on Evers’ website. The deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 29.
McGinnis’ retirement comes after a special prosecutor decided not to file criminal charges in an investigation into McGinnis’ handling of a case in 2021.
