OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Oshkosh police arrested the suspect in a shooting from earlier this month after a dramatic chase and search through a business.
The 20-year-old Menasha man was identified as a suspect in the shooting of a 19-year-old man in the 1000 block of Wisconsin Street on Aug. 2. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury to his shoulder. He was treated and since been released.
On Wednesday, Oshkosh detectives initiated a surveillance operation on the suspect. Detectives saw him entering a business in the 100 block of N. Mall Drive in Grand Chute. He attempted to flee through the back door of an adjacent business, where he was arrested.
Subsequently, detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on the 1100 Block of Grove Street in Menasha. During the search, they discovered two loaded firearms in the suspect’s bedroom: a Glock .45 caliber handgun with a laser attachment and a MAC-10 style 9 mm firearm.
