LUDINGTON, Mich. (WTAQ) — The Lake Michigan car ferry SS Badger is offering a unique travel experience for football fans heading to the Detroit Lions versus Green Bay Packers game on September 7 at Lambeau Field.
Instead of taking a long drive around Lake Michigan, fans can board the Badger in Ludington, enjoy a cruise to Manitowoc, and then take a 45-minute drive to the stadium.
“The SS Badger transforms into a pre-game party atmosphere on game day,” said Thom Hawley, a representative from the SS Badger. “Passengers are encouraged to wear their team colors and join in the excitement as we cruise across the lake.”
Officials say the Badger provides a scenic and stress-free alternative to highway travel, allowing fans to kick off their game day experience with a relaxing and enjoyable journey. The ship offers amenities such as food, drinks, entertainment, and comfortable seating.
“This is a great way to travel to Green Bay for the game,” Hawley added. “It’s a fun, scenic, and hassle-free start to your weekend, avoiding the long drive and traffic congestion.”
The Badger will leave Ludington at 9 a.m. and will arrive in Manitowoc at noon. The game starts at 3:25 p.m.
