TIGERTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Officials in Tigerton say the cause of a blaze that burned an apartment complex to the ground on Saturday evening is still under investigation.
Officials say they were called to the complex at 300 Cedar Street in the village of Tigerton around 6:30.
“Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy smoke showing in the attic area of the structure. Firefighters immediately initiated an attack to try to extinguish the fire, while ensuring the safety of occupants and nearby properties,” a release says.
Due to the building’s “deteriorating conditions,” officials called for extra support from surrounding agencies.
“This alarm eventually went to the 5th level for tankers to supply water to the scene,” fire officials say.
Two sites were set up to supply tankers with water, and officials say it took 540,000 gallons to put out the building fire.
Officials say everyone inside the building got out safely, and there were no injuries. The building is a total loss.
